This schematic design proposes an installation titled 'Ínvasion’ located in the Melbourne School of Design (MSD). The form is created through a recursive aggregation modeled in Grasshopper where one singular piece is repeated and connects to one another through a defined rule set. I designed the form to model around the MSD stairs by defining it as an obstacle in the program. This site was chosen as I believe they are poorly designed and focus more on aesthetic rather than functionality, thus I created a form that reclaimed the space in an aggressive manner. To show how this form could be created physically I undertook a series of investigations in order to choose a component material. For example, by 3D printing the component, I was able to understand how the form would establish itself using the defined rule set.
